A War Torn World- Day 5

The wind picked up, and a roaring sound was heard. The hurricane could be seen in the distance, steadily growing larger, and obviously huge, about Catagory, oh, I don't know five. A phoenix that had been sheltering the storm risked death by rain to flee, the mermaids rose and followed, the dragons not far behind. The Reths went underground, and the Maynel fled to their mountain tunnels.

"Quick to the castle, Kallista will let us in!" The Gruagach said, running already.

Shali focused, but not the castle. She instead focused on the center of the forest, but something broke her concentration. It was Avelion. "Oh no you don't, Shali! I know what you're going to do. You are NOT going to risk your life by going to the forest, you are going to the castle!" He yelled, some winds picking up around him. "If you're not there by the time I am, I will chase you down and drag you there myself." He said, hovering into the air. Shali looked at him with a distraught look, as he flew off. She closed her eyes, and focused on the castle, but couldn't. "What? Why can I teleport?" This is bad, very bad, this can't be happening! She was freaking out. "Come on, pull yourself together, Shali, you can do this." She said to herself, and tried again. She teleported a few feet towards the city, but that was all.

"This is not a normal hurricane. It feeds on demonic power, thus it is a danger to you and Nova!" The gruagach yelled, returning, "Come on!" He finished, grabbing Shali's arm and running to the castle.

Shali cried out in pain, the acid skin of the Gruagach burning her skin. Why is this happening? WHY? "Let go!" She yelled, trying to wrench free.

"Sorry, but don't stop running! " The gruagach said, letting go of her.

Shali called some winds around her, rising quickly into the air. She sped off towards the castle, attempting to lift Nova with the winds as well.

The gruagach saw the closed castle grounds doors, stopped for a second, and the jumped right over the walls. "Kallista! I must speak to her! " The guards let it in without a word, leaving the keys in the lock and going in for shelter. They aren't paid enough to deal with hurricanes.

Nova only stood there, staring at the hurricane approaching, ignoring Shali's winds. "Heh...fancy trick, monsters." He muttered under his breath. "But, you don't have me fooled, not for a second." He poofed to Shali. "Let's go." Nova said. He looked to the creature. "I'll play along THING. But, I suppose I'm supposed to be believing that it isn't coincidence that as I insulted you, the hurricane came, aren't I?" Nova asked, while yelling to it.

"WELL..." the voice only said, and laughed. At what, who knows?

"If it was my doing, would I be fleeing? I'm not stupid!" The gruagach said, running down, then walking ahead of them. "This way, we must speak to Kallista."

Shali's winds started to fight against her. "Argh! What's going on? They don't normally do this!" She yelled, quickly releasing them after landing. She was thoroughly shaken, feeling weakened. What's going on? Why aren't my powers working? She started walking towards the castle, glad that the rain hid the expression her face.

"The hurricane eats magic, and I am half magic by nature. You think I would create that!?" The gruagach said, annoyed at Nova.

Shali was terrified. "I don't use magic, that hurts. My abilities are something else, something different." She didn't know the word for it, but she knew it wasn't magic. Magic would hurt, unless used in healing.

"It's called acting, tardo." Nova said to the beast's first moronic excuse. "It's not that hard to do, especially because your ugly *** face is so hard to read expression off of anyways, you don't even have to fake expressions!" Nova said, laughing.

"BECAUSE, YOU'RE LETTING THIS THING GET TO YOU, AND YOUR NERVOUSNESS IS MAKING YOU RECKLESS AND WEAK." The voice said coldly to Shali. "FEAR WILL BE YOUR DOWNFALL, IF YOU CANNOT LEARN TO CONTROL IT. AFTER ALL, LOOK AT NOVA. EVEN IF HE'S WRONG, HE'S BOLDNESS AND STUBBORNNESS WILL SEE HIM THROUGH IT, BECAUSE HE IS NOT AFRAID." It finished.

Shali took deep, slow breaths, trying to calm down. She tried to use her winds again, but still they fought her. "Figures." She muttered, then focused on the castle. She managed to get farther this time. "This is stupid. Am I going to let fear get the better of me, or am I going to be smart and do this?" Shali asked herself, choosing the second option. She focused on getting to the castle, ignoring her fear. She finally managed to get there. "FINALLY!" She yelled.

"Took ya long enough." Nova said to Shali, who had just arrived.

*flew in next to nova*
"whats up ugly"

"I had to calm down." Shali said, as Avelion ran to her. "Finally, Shali." She glared at him, heart still racing. "Rain... Why must there always be rain?"

"Not much spaz." Nova said to Kaze.

"So, Shali, I do believe we are in a pickle, yes?" Nova asked the wet and annoyed (catgirl/neko/nephri...wtf?).

"The beast has made some super storm or something." Nova answered Kaze.

Shali nodded, looking at Nova. "Just, one thing Nova. Don't die, ok?" She said, indicating what the gruagach had said.
