The duo advances out of the Old Village, seeing a small pool of water to their right. Not far after traveling they see a person standing rigidly straight. As they approach the person shows no sign of moving. Laura going up to him from the side and looking at him. It is a small boy with a blue hat backwards but otherwise nothing special. He doesn't move and Laura is about to raises her hand in front of his eyes.

"WAIT!"

Laura jumps back as she turns to Iggy.
"Whats wrong? He is just standing there not doing anything."

"That is because he is programmed to do so until you walk in front of him, like so."

Iggy does so and the person springs to life, an exclamation point appearing in a speech bubble above his head as he moves forward.
"You are in my view. If you have puppets then you must battle me. You can't say no its the rules"

Laura stares as the kid sends out a cNazrin. Iggy motions for his cMomiji to move forward.

Laura watches in amazement as Iggy flawlessly beats the trainer's puppet. The battle only taking a few rounds as Laura see's how good Iggy is as a trainer. With his cNazrin defeated the boy sniffles as he doles out some money to Iggy and returns to his spot "But my Nazrin is the top percentage of Nazrin."

"Yeah yea I am sure. Hey Laura, you can pass now. I beat him so he won't fight again"

Laura grins and steps in front of the boy, getting a huge surprise as he calls her out using the same lines as before. As he pulls out an orb containing a cNazrin Laura looks to Iggy.
"What was that again?"

"Uhhh....this doesnt happen in the actual game...."

"Just my luck"

Laura reaches into her bag for her orbs, rummaging through as she searches for the one marked "Night sparrow girl" and she tosses it out, summoning her cMystia. Looking sheepishly over at Iggy she informs him.
"I uhhh... labeled them so I know who is in which one."

"No worries."

The night sparrow lets out melodious chirp as she appears before getting ready to fight.

Luck seemed to be on Laura's side as the battle takes about as long as Iggy's did. The lads cNazrin lacking in the defense department as the night sparrow puppet delivered three Peck attacks to it. While the mouse puppet attacked only once, the other two turns it had used Tail Whip to try and lower cMystia's defense by a good bit. With the lad defeated he whines again before handing Laura 80 currency. He then stands where he is, not returning to the spot he began and Iggy understands.

"Now he is truly beaten and won't attack us again."

"Right..."

Calling back her cMystia the duo advances some more before finding another person staring in one particular direction. Behind this person was an area of tall grass that would bypass the trainer completely.

Before Iggy can say anything Laura stops him.
"I got this."

She steps in front of the trainer who immediately activates.
"Haha our eyes met! I will take you on with my bug puppets!"

The bug trainer throws out an orb, summoning a puppet wrapped in a black cloak with green eyes and two antenna. Laura could have sworn she heard an uncharacteristic noise coming from the kitsune as she chooses her puppet.

"Go cYuki."

The puppet is summoned, ready to fight as she looks at her challenger. The puppets stare while Iggy tries his best to look the other way. This fight goes much like the other, the opponents cWriggle, Laura hearing its name as the trainer called out, was not up for the more trained cYuki. Eventually the bug puppet faints, Laura jumping up as the trainer pulls out another orb.

"You haven't won yet, I still have one more puppet. However I will allow you to change yours just to be fair."

"Well thank you. Return cYuki."
The fire type puppet disappears with a red light into its orb as Laura pulls out another one.
"Go cChen."

With a flash of light the nekomata puppet appears, rubbing her face with a paw as the other trainer throws out his orb. When the light fades Laura is staring at a blonde girl halfway in a hole with a brown outfit on.

"Ummm which one is that?"

"That is a cYamame the spider-girl puppet. Prepare to lose!"

Laura commands her cChen

Laura calls out the attack. Her cChen rushing forward to reach the cYamame. Once there the nekomata puppet turns around and smacks the spider puppet with its two tails. The cYamame loses some defense but retaliates with a growl. The noise causing Laura's puppet to lose some attack power, the moves canceling each other out in a way as the puppets suffer the stat decreases.

Calling out the next order Laura hopes to do a bit of damage this round. Her cChen runs up and scratches the cYamame. The spider girl puppet takes some damage but its ability goes off. While the ability could have poisoned or paralyzed the cChen all it did was make her fall asleep. The nekomata puppet curled in a cute ball as the cYamame lets out another growl. Laura's sleeping puppet suffers another attack decrease."

Laura orders a Quick Attack in an attempt for her cChen to wake up. The puppet stirs and thankfully wakes up just in time to pull off the move. While the damage wasn't much due to the Growl used earlier, cYamame's ability did not go off. The bug catcher calls for a poison sting attack. The attack hits but cChen shrugs it off, her ground type making the spider puppet's attack have very little effect.

well, I do have the defensive advantage...and gotta level build the catgirl plus quick attack seems a lot more effective then the spiders plus maybe it'll keep stopping the counter attack.

(Thing is I am actually playing the game using your moves. What happens in the game is the same as the story.)

Laura calls for another Quick Attack which her cCHen obliges with. Doing slightly less damage to the cYamame because of the stat reductions. Again the spider puppet responds with a Growl. Making the nekomata puppet lose even more attack.
"Again? Geez aren't you going to do anything beside growling at my puppet?"

Deciding to try and lower the opposing cYamame's defense again, Laura calls out for another Tail Whip attack. Her cChen hops forward and does so, succeeding in lowering the spider youkai's defense. In retaliation the cYamame strikes with a Poison sting attack. The attack being not effective and mercifully not causing the poison status effect.

With hope and almost muttering a small prayer that this will be over quickly Laura orders her cChen for another Quick-Attack. The nekomata puppet delivers the blow and tilts it's head as a retaliation attack doesn't arrive. It seems that the Quick-Attack turned into a critical hit, barely doing enough damage to knock out the spider youkai and ending the battle. Laura lets out a cheer, moving forward and petting her cChen before returning the puppet to it's orb. The bug catcher sighs in defeat. Returning his cYamame to her orb and holding out 64 currency for Laura to take. He then returns to his starting position to await another trainer. Laura looks over at Iggy.
"I won."

"Took a bit longer than you thought didn't it?"

"Yeah well...I am new at this cut me some slack."

Iggy just sighs as he plans his next move.
