Ceria-Day One

Her mother smiles faintly.

"Learned the language from my sister, Jacky loves the Drow." Susi says, and starts to look up and down the final family member. "Hmm.. Hmm hmm hmm... I think I've got it!" She starts redesigning what she had set up for the man, and began making an entirely different outfit.

"Yeah, sure, you just let me know where it is, and I will do what I can," he said, giving him a rare smile.

"Thanks. There's some things that... I never got to say." He says, before actually looking at Kaley. "Girl, what've you made this time?"

"Remote camera. Visions directly linked to me. Smile!" A bright flash fills the room an stops. "It can take still pictures too. An old function, but I like it. Adds a bit of a personal touch." The camera moved towards them. "Better than normal vision. With different filters for infrared and such."

Earan blinks, rubbing his eyes. "No problem, just make sure she doesn't hit me with that again, would you?"

"Sorry 'bout the flash. It's a side effect of the process. Had to reinvent a whole form of photography, ended up a bit brighter than it should be." she reached and fiddled with something on the large machine, and the n set it back. "This will let me watch you at the meeting."

"So who are you meeting that's so high up that you can't be seen?"

"I don't like being watched, though..."

"Yes, but I want to see exactly what happens when Bob sees Eda. And I don't want to be recognized."

"Fine, whatever." He said, clearly not happy.

"Oh don't worry, it could be worse. I'd almost had the idea to build a full on robot to do it!" She says, laughing.

"Remind me again why soul stealing is wrong?"

"Because it's cruel, painful, and will get you killed by the government if you do it to an earth based being?"

"Screw the government, but I guess you're right." Turning to Jake, he asks: "You ready?"

"Sure, as long as your appointment isn't too close." He says, and looks to Kaley.

"Nah, we've got a few hours. And you can take the machine with you, I need to tinker with the viewing side a bit." she says, getting out.

Jake climbed into the drivers side of the vehicle.

Earandil sits next to him. "Lead on, Mate."

"We'll be going to the Northern Graveyard, closest to the water." Jake says, starting up the truck. It didn't have a steering wheel, just a blank screen for him to place his hands and connect. He did so. "I so love this baby." he comments, as lights and text flows across the screen.

"Does it do music?"

"Any song you care to name; I've got a direct connection to the Terra web from any point in the city." Jake says, turning the vehicle around the block to get in the right direction.

"Voodoo Chile, live from Woodstock."

He moves a finger slightly, and the song is put up on the speakers. "Perfect quality too. Had Kaley do that for me." Jake says, as he turns onto the main road.

"Nifty. There are times I wish I knew tech, but it balances out."

"Heh. You talk to ghosts, I talk to electronics. It's not that different, I think. Every device, every car, every flashlight even, has it's own personality. They have histories, even if it's just having been left in the junk drawer. Take Baby here, she's been going since before the first attack, and has kept me alive plenty of times." Jake says, driving around a few dead kitri that hadn't yet been removed.

"Lara Shadow-Voice. What do you want from me?" Lara says, claws at the ready still trying to find her unknown speaker.

"That's pretty cool. I'm still trying to figure out why I hadn't heard of them."

"Sometimes, things like that happen. I think it's magic messing with people, but I'm a little paranoid." He says, turning the car sharply to avoid a slain Anthren.

The red robed figure waves a hand to Lara. "I saw you take down that crime lord. Good work, too. I've been gunning for him for a while. It's good to see scum go down."
