| As the other students came in, the teacher droned on, talking about the history of Hogwarts. Shali, bored, sat with her knee's drawn up to her chest, her arms wrapped around them, and doodled on her desk with her finger, which she had dipped in ink. | |

| Hannah rolled her eyes at their antics, and passed Shali her book. She gave her a grateful smile, and started reading, safely hiding the book under the desk after moving to sit properly.
The teacher turned to Vincent. "Five points from Slytherin. Keep this up and it'll be detention. You, girl! Stop reading and pay attention!"
Shali scowled, and hid her book, then started reading again when the teacher turned away. | |
