Tome 1: The council's Return- OLDOLDOLD

Sabre sighs again, shaking his head at them, before beginning to take copious notes from the books.

Ranger and Kali see three people down the stairwell, Maze and Scythe they know, however there is another, different to the apprentice that greeted them. Both Maze and the third person are wearing master robes.

Sabre attemtps to channel his anger into a working, cupping his hands together and attempting to form a fireball there.

Sabre finds he can make a small spark, but nothing more, anything more than a spark that was created fizzled.

Sabre sighs, looking down in despondency. "I'm just not an angry person..." Grabbing a pillow, he searches it for a feather before setting it gently back in its place. Taking off his shoes, he curls up in an unmarked bed, ignoring his name that seemed to bore into him.

Kali grins, motioning for Ranger to be very, very quiet, as she sneaks a bit closer to hear better. She looks... Intent, eyes glittering with mischief.

Ranger nods, heading towards the stairs quietly, scouting. Scythe looks at the map table. "Are you both ready to try again." Maze looks at the third and nods. They head out towards the cafeteria. Ranger whispers "Your call..."

Kali clicks her tongue against her teeth, sneaking the rest of the way down the stairs. She motions for him to follow, heading towards an alcove by the cafeteria.

The three walk outside through the back way, towards the training area. Ranger, no longer crouching, walks over to the door.

Kali glares, yanking him down. "Stay down! They could see us!" she whispers, leading the way stealthily.

Kat wishes he had brought more chicken.

Ranger is unmoved, he points towards the door, no one is there. Walking out the door the 3 have entered the guild woods.

Sabre looks at Kat for a moment, before sighing.
"So.... tell me about yourself..."

"Not much to say. My parents are farmers. Never much wanted to do farming." Kat says, making sure that he can be heard, but still quiet.

She nods, standing and darting after them, making sure to stay a good distance away.

Ranger walks casually towards the forest, dragging her back as she approaches the gate. "If they're going in there, then they won't be far it. Stay quiet and light on your foot..."

"Farmers keep people fed. There is nothing wrong with that. When did you develop your abilities?"

She looks insulted. "Duh!" she whispers back at him. "I'm Kali! Prankster extraordinaire! I know how to sneak!"

"Recently."

"I see... I only inquire because I am doing a small study. How old are you, in as precise a measurement as you can give?"

"I'm eight. Turned so last week."

"Very interesting. Did you have anything you would call a catalyst for your abilities?"

"Not really."

"No strange object striking you in the head, or strange injuries you couldn't explain?"

"Nope. Nothing."
