Ceria-Day Two

Kayley's eyes slow down. "That... Bastard." She repeats. "Thank you for the water, Eda."

Eda nods slightly.

A wave of sound causes the door to creak and then shatter into tiny shards. "Gee.. Thanks."

"Found something useful from your sources? My sources, while slightly unnerving, also proved of use."

"He has a friend in the government. He also has nothing listed as his major focus. But that's impossible. I'm thinking we pay his friend a visit. Also; he must be very powerful, because not only did he mess with my internal archives, I think he may have done something to my mind." Kayley sounds distressed, and off a bit, too.

"Nothing is impossible. Also sounds to me like a highly dangerous major. Here's the info I got from my sources: His name is Malacharius Areks, goes by Malachi, he holds an extremely powerful web of information, melee against him is highly undesirable as he is apparently immune to it, possibly a daywalker, and apparently he doesn't age. He also predates magic, and he is weak against healing foci, which could be handy to know."

Kayley blinks. "... How... Do I even want to know?"

"The dead know things the living may not. I had to proceed with extreme care to receive the information, though."

Eda fiddles with a flower that had snuck it's way over to her, staying quiet while the other two spoke.

"I see. I need to think this out... If nothing is a form of magic... That would imply certain theories are right..." Kayley looks distracted in thought this time, her eyes remaining still.

The splinters turn backwards to them, only to be stopped by a shield of light. "It was trapped, it seems."

"Well, lets fix that why don't we? Lets see.... ah, lets try this." Another wave of sound echoes through the air, and the splinters begin to warp and shift, and then fall to the ground, harmless. "There we go!" She carefully steps across the splinters into the building.

"A friend of mine did work in the field of nothing manipulation in regards to quantum mechanics. Fascinating subject, boring man, though."

"If he has the nothing focus...." Kayley looks at her hands and shudders. "Then I am very lucky..."

Three men run out the door, one of them blasting ice towards the two. "Sorry, I cannot let you do that." Shadows begin to constrict the ice mage.

"Yeah, you are," Earndil said, looking annoyed and reproachful.

"Excuse me... But what's the nothing focus?" Eda pipes up inquisitively, head tilting. One of the flowers is attempting to braid itself into her hair.

"The ability to create a lack of anything. He can make things cease to exist..." Kayley appears dazed again, making a new record of how many times she can be surprised in one day.

Lara's arm transforms into a gun, and shoots, one blow instantly crushing one man's windpipe and knocking the other to the ground. She glances over at Kyri who appears to be doing fine. "Well then."

Eda fiddles with the flower again, looking confused. "Is this a bad thing, then? It's not like he'd ever use it on a person, that'd be wrong!"

"It is much like certain uses of my major I have considered. They should never be used, but there will always be someone so arrogant and unfeeling that they decide to do so anyway."

"But- but- but it's mean! That's bad!" Eda frowns noticeably.

Earandil walks right up to Eda, bending slightly and looking right in her eyes with an intensity he had not shown before. "The world is full of bad people. All we can do is our best to make things a little better."

"Exactly. I'm not sure if he's the bad guy now... If he wanted to hurt us, he could have done so without us knowing..."

"Shall we go on?" Kyri says, as light envelopes the two on the ground.

Eda frowns. "But..."

"Probably. Anywho..."
