"Well, that's good."

Kyri grabs her arm, and runs. They're outside the building in about a second. "That, was weird."


"Now, what are her other foci?"

"I am the maker of the ring you now wear. It was my greatest achievement. Of course, I died in the process, but having the death Focus makes that a little different. I assume you have it as well, else you would not be after the ring?"

"Doesn't matter much though, seems you were able to succeed anyway."

"Is that her only other?" Bob asks, a bit startled. Powerful foci tend to come with the full set of four others.

"I am Elysivan Torain, at your service! I'd bow, but you know."

"Well, I've been stuck alone in a ring for years, and suddenly I have company. Now, what are we doing here? I sense not one, but two other things similar to my ring. Neither appear to be attuned to Death, though."

"Ah, those will be useful."

"Well, considering that her major is Nature, light and air are two parts of what's needed for her power to be anywhere she wants. I actually kind of hope she develops water as well, it would make her incredibly powerful. But alas, one cannot chose their foci."

"My knowledge is limited to my own life, and the inner workings of the Death Foci. I'm sorry."
Kaley chips in. "Get a move on, we still got to get Jacky's gift. Take a right, you'll find a door. Use code 9 for it. You'll find a small metal ball. Take it off the stand, and press the pad beneath it."

"Well, that will help with some of the growth. She will get extensive training in that area as well, considering the kitri assaults."

Eda doesn't look to happy about this...

"Okay." He heads off, entering code nine, grabbing the ball and pressing the pad.
'I will definitely have a question or two for you later.'

"And I shall answer them."
As he presses the pad, the stand slides down, and the whole room turns. He can hear mechanical motion in front of him, as a new panel opens. "There. Head through that passage, it should bring you out to where I am." Kaley says, as the door he came through closes and locks. Down the passage, wires can be seen running along the ceiling and floor.

"Is something wrong, child?"

Eda shakes her head, blushing and hiding behind her mother.

He heads down the passage, running now, trying to get out in time.
'When did you live?'

Elys chuckles. "Figures that they wouldn't know my name after five decades. I am, was, whatever, the first Death foci. Ever."
As he goes further into the passage, the gleaming silver of the Academy gives way to rock, but the wires go on.

"It'll be fine! You'll enjoy the training!"

Eda just nods.
