There was a time, before the glory of the world, when the elven peoples were similar to the humans. In this time, the land was covered in a perpetual darkness, created by the last king of the Druj'naa. They were a formerly powerful race, who shaped the other races destinies, and were a force of good for many a millennium. But all things are subject to corruption, and the Druj'naa were no different. Their leader, Kelkuyan, was poisoned by treacherous thoughts, and one by one, his people fell, succumbing to the temptations all beings with power face. They began making deals with terrible beings, hunting always for more power. It was this power that inevitably lead to the destruction of the Druj'naa. Their corruption led to the near extinction of their people. Only Kelkuyan, last and greatest was left, and he, in mourning of his people, used his power to commit unspeakable horrors, and to blanket the sky with perpetual darkness. This was his curse, and the bitterness of his soul could never be reversed. In a last ditch effort to save the peoples of Earth, five sages from beyond the mortal veil used the last of their life force to create the Healing Stone. Its properties, within the right hands, would be enough to turn back the filth of the world, and remove Kelkuyan's curse. But before it could be used, Kelkuyan stole the stone, using his great power to split it into nine pieces, scattering them across the world, hidden and thought lost forever...
