Paragon City

Our story begins in Galaxy City, a section of Paragon City surrounded by War Walls, giant forcefields that help protect against the rikti.
A new group of heroes are being given their badges, officially. Most of them have been heroing for a while longer, but now they are official, get paid, (Not much, but hey.) and have the badge.

Mira is getting her license as she isn't old/powerful enough to have a badge yet. Sure, some kids get theirs as young as eight or seven, but those kids also have powers like controlling the full force of the SUN. Mira's not even an ant to that kind power... Yet.

Ice hums as she gets her badge, ignoring the odd looks she gets from people in Atlas.

"Little Ice Devil, you are now granted the badge of the Hero. We welcome you as a protector of our great city!" Lady giving the badges says, a plastic grin on her face.

Mira smiles at the lady in the desk as Amy fills in her details for her. The lady smiles back, then returns to her romance novel. "Done, here you go!" Amy says, handing it to Mira so she can check it over. All is well, so Mira gives it to the lady at the desk. The lady presses a button and a card comes out of a slit in the desk.
"All done. Here's your license to practice magic on city grounds. Here's your license to intervene in crimes that you spot, and this is your details card, keep it on you at all times." The lady hands Mira three cards, and Mira nods.

Psychowolf growled at Lady, wanting to hurry up and get his badge. For close to forty years, he had wandered as a protector. Now some damnable bureaucrat wanted him to register. The pay was crap, too. He was used to doing odd jobs so he could eat, fighting crime along the way. Not getting some damn badge from some random government. Goddamn politics.

The lady looks at him, nodding. Some people are in such a hurry. "Psychowolf, we welcome you to our city, and give you the badge of the hero." she says, short and to the point, handing him the badge.

Mortius is seemingly arguing with the ground, in a very, very soft voice.

The lady sighs. And some of them are just a little crazy. She remembers that amber girl from a few years back, absolutely insane but very powerful. "Mortius, we grant you the badge of the hero and welcome you as a protector of our city."

"Yeah, yeah. Damn hoho bureaucrat," Psychowolf growls at her, scowling. He wondered, not for the first time, why he had chosen not to say Fuck em and be a hero without their permission.

Ulon appears near everyone else in a newly formed portal, and sighs. "Great, here we go again..."

Mortius's shadow rises sneakily takes his badge and giggles on his way back, however, since he isn't technically solid, Mortius just takes it from his shadow and sighs.

The lady keeps her plastic smile on, handing the badge to the alien without a word. Then she quickly and stiffly walks away, leaving the hero's behind. Mortius gets a semi-psychic message from a lady he happens to know is another low level hero. "Could use some help here, Mort. I've got hellions all over this building." Miss Eye says.
A teenage girl comes out a door near by, holding a set of communicators. She is covered in green and black tubes, glowing brightly. A visor, black with blue lines that glow, covers her face. "Good day, new heroes. I am Wire. I'm Paragon City's hero communication officer. These are your communicators. Keep them with you at all times. They are connected to police radio and the Hero Network." She says, handing a communicator to each hero.

Ice grins. "Th'nk y'u! I w'll. It's n'ce t' m't y'u!"

Wire nods. "Little Ice Devil, Ambassador from Hell, literally. Part of Lucifer's attempts to regain face with the human populace. It is good to meet you as well."

Ulon receives a message on his communicator almost immediately. "Requesting nonhuman assistance, south of Atlas Statue. 340 feet, thirty west!" A human voice comes through.
"There is a tutorial as to how to call for certain types of help. Feel free to look over it at a later date." Wire says to the alien, pointing him in the direction of the request.

Ice bows. "Th't's me!"

Ulon sighs, and walks off to the west, strolling along.

Psychowolf tucks his communicator away absentmindedly, muttering about asking for aid.

Mortius' shadow goes towards a building, it looks like his shadow went f*** this and ran away towards the nearest buildin- well buildings SHADOW. and Mortius goes with it. It's quite funny actually, but don't laugh at him, that's mean!

Psychowolf grimaces, calling his wolf familiar before wandering off.

Ulon comes across the scene. An Ice elemental appears to have gone out of control. The poor trainee mage that summoned it is cowering against a wall as it menaces her. The dual gun wielding hero who called for help is shooting off random shots at the elemental. "Glad you got here, mate! I'm in a rather dangerous spot of trouble here!" he says in an obviously fake Australian accent.
Mort arrives at a building that has small trails of smoke coming out of it. "You coming? This is getting worse by the minute!" Miss Eye tells him. he can see where she entered the building, it's not hard to spot the window with the purple goo, a side effect of her powers, all over it. It's still open.
"Little Ice Devil, I would like to talk to you in private." Wire says.
For now, Psychowolf doesn't see much.

Psychowolf seems not to care. He's not interested in this city. To him, it's a stopping point, only deciding to receive the badge when he realized just how long he might remain in a jail without dying. He wanders around some more, before sitting on a curb with the wolf at his feet, both of them snacking on jerky.

"Hm?" Ice walks over, head tilted.

"I'd like to request that you give this to a friend of mine down in hell. His normal name is Kainerath." Wire says, handing over a small box.

And that's obviously the signal for a thug to try and jump Psycho wolf, attempting a pistol whip to the head.

Ordinarily, Psychowolf would have simply taken the blow and shrug it off. Unfortunately for the mugged, lying at his feet is a very large, very HUNGRY wolf, with an exceptional sense of smell, which springs at his throat with a growl.

The thug panics, and starts shooting. The first two shots miss, embedding themselves in a tree and a wall.
