| Annette, who had been strangely silent before, began to stir. Her stilled tails began to take on their familiar slow wave, and the light in her eyes flickered once more. The vixen looks confused at first, but her expression soon changes to that of slight amusement. "Oh my! My mind has been on other things this entire time. I've missed so much!" Taking a single glance at the new girl, faint blood stains still dressing the corners of her mouth, she is put into a state of unease. Annette often hated her primal sense of self preservation, for every little unfamiliar thing put her off, making it very hard to make friends. Even more, she could recognize Mariya's soul as something she would never, ever want to take, thieve, or consume.
As Vicheryn began to delve into Mariya's mind, Annette found her animal instinct thrusting her into a state of full fledged alarm. Her orb, now a reddish orange, pulsated erratically. The urge to flee was almost impossible to fight, but she held her ground, knowing that the danger she was in was all in her head. | |
