Day One

The ball of energy hovering by Lysp's tail is released, and hurtles at the knight, impacting his chest with a loud crackling, effectively melting the metal into it's flesh. As all this happens in a matter of seconds, a second bolt is in the air. "No, I don't think these are the guys, the ones we were hunting were more.... prepared for battle than these incompetent fools."

Rylini flashes a quick smile at Lysp as the shadows form a protective barier around the group, threateningly flicking in the direction of the mounted knights. At the same time, her grimoire appears in her hand, and the ground begins to decay around them, effectively creating a moat. "There, that should keep them back, but I can make a bridge if you'd like to go across?" She indicates towards Vicheryn.

Vicheryn dives through before the barrier goes up, howling and hacking at anything within range, nimble and graceful, yet seemingly mad with blood lust. She seems to be targeting the horse's tendons, trying to bring down the riders in one swift movement. Her sword seems to be singing, razor sharp and empowered by some strange force.

Zarkaeloth looks at the bow and mutters "I need more practice with this..." So he puts it away, and unsheathe's a finely crafted sword and a book. "If this is as bad as i sense it will..." his voice trails off suddenly.

Liron angles his staff towards the oncoming foes, purple mist spilling out form the top. It spills out over the moat, towards the enemy, darting into any exposed opening. The enemy begin to fall, and quickly, but just when success begins to seem plausible, the siren starts shrieking even louder, and thunderous hoof beats can be heard. Dozens more soldiers begin to round the corner, at least four dozen, with more behind them.

A frown crosses Vicheryn's face, and she runs over to Liron, tugging on his clothes and pointing the opposite way, trying to convey a retreat.

Lysp's tail surges with energy, and sends out the rest of the energy that was stored there, making a last hurrah as he slowly backs up, his tail turning back to normal and tapping Rylini lightly on the shoulder. "Sorry to say, but I think we'd better go." As he speaks, the bolt he threw creates a very large explosion, throwing the couple dozen in the front back about twenty yards. "I'm not sure how long we'd be able to hold them anyways."

The shadows whip around sending the knights crashing to the ground, and the ones that are already dead begin to rise again, gruesomely soaked with blood and dark magic. The portals that are open release several dozen more undead from her father's realm, and Jimmy continues throwing bolts of decay into the crowds. "Fine, but that should hold them back for a little while, although why I'm trying to save this godforsaken place I have no bloody idea." Rylini's grimoire takes it's place back in her pouch, and her staff on her back as she turns away from the chaos of the battle and follows along with Vicheryn, Liron, Lysp, and the others, although the shadowed barrier still remains.

Zarkaeloth stops in the panic, calms his mind and wreaths himself in flames. His body began to grow, blue scales became a dark red. Clothes turned to steel armor, and his items were stored in a saddle. Finally, he transformed into a dragon.
He turns toward the fleeing group and says in a deeper, darker voice, "Get on!"

Vicheryn shakes her head at the stranger's offer, choosing to run on her surprisingly swift feet. The whole time, however, she never sheathes her sword, which seems surprisingly dangerous yet she moves as though well used to it, preventing protest. She seems to have recovered her earlier composure and humanity, and appears to be a completely new person, surprisingly youthful for all of her strange mannerisms.

"No need to worry, I'm not going to hurt anyone." Zarkaeloth tells the rest of the group. "Besides, we need to get out of here as soon as possible"

"The forest, the forest is the safest place," Lina says quickly. "We can go there, but we have to hurry."

"I'll get us there in no time, plus I can change back when we get to the heart of the forest. Climb on. " He lowers his tail to make a stairway for the others.

Deep in the forest, a small boy waits. The trees told him to wait there, for those that would come. They do that some times. He doesn't normally mind. This time, though, is different. His forest is in danger, but he's not allow to protect it. He argued, but was gently shushed. He complained, and was nudged back to his spot. He climbed, but found no paths. Being a forest child wasn't all fun and games, apparently.
He waits.

Liron grabs Rylini and Lysp and drags them onto the dragons back. "Go! Now!" he demands as a mage with the party of fighters starts relentlessly beating at all of their defenses.

Vicheryn continues to run towards the forest, refusing to get on the strange beast. A slight smile lights up her features at the thought of an unwinnable battle, but her strong will prevents her from doing something so foolish as going back. Her inward battle briefly flickers on her face, her curse and her reasoning battling in a surprisingly short period of time. She pours on the speed, using her knowledge of human physiology to enhance her muscles and keep oxygen flowing into her lungs, merging sprinting and marathon running into one.

Within the forest, a young man stirs from his restful slumber in the boughs of a tree near the forest edge. Hearing the sound of battle, he removes his two daggers that he stuck into the tree, tucking them into the straps at his sides. He narrows his eyes before leaping across the tree limbs deeper into the forest.

He comes across a small boy, patiently sitting in one of the branches. The trees move their branches behind the boy, concealing him to an extent. The boy puts a loving hand on one of the branches. "One approaches? Where from?" He says, and listens.

The young man rests on one of the trees, not immediately seeing the boy. The man turns around to where he came from for a few moments. As if expecting to see someone appear any moment. As his eyes scan around, his mouth would open slightly upon spotting the boy, then closes quickly.

The boy turns around to face him. "There. Hello. Are you friend or foe? The forest wants to know." He rhymes, smiling. The branches shift to provide him an easy path, which he walks closer to the other person.

The man is definitely young, his hair is dark, which seems a stark contrast to his light complexion. His eyes are an odd shade of light green. He holds his ground as the boy comes near. "I am friend tu some, and enemy tu some. Tha choice is your own." He has a noticeable accent, but his voice is strong and unafraid. His right hand strays near the dagger on his right side.

"If you are a friend of the forest, then you are a friend of mine. What brings you here? The war?" There is a definite odd quality to his voice, as if it is not entirely his own.

The young man's hand is still near his dagger. Giving the boy a wary look. "You could say that...

"We see. I mean I see. You can relax. This is a peaceful place, the war will not touch here." His voice echos with an odd truth to it.

The young man still looks clearly distrustful, but his hand slowly falls to his side. He leans casually against the tree. "Trees obey you, I see. A wonderful gift. How do you use it?"

"Let's leave quickly." He takes off, heading straight towards the middle of the forest to get away from the fight.
