Ceria-Day Two

Earan stretches, grimacing as he contemplates his next move.

The man keeps laughing, and Kaley keeps smacking him. "Just, just like your mo-" this time she slaps him with her hand engulfed in fire.

"Ahha, now there's the breaking point." He doesn't seem very surprised. A little singed, but otherwise fine. Kaley slaps him again, this time her hand covered in electricity.

"Kaley! Pl-please stop..." Eda seems on the verge of crying, not wanting to watch.

Earan moves down to Eda, taking her hand in his.

Eda turns, clinging to him.

"What do you know about your mother? Hmm?" He says, still standing. His black hair appears to be on fire as well.

"Enough." Kaley says. She holds up her hand, angry enough that her fire is spreading down her arm.

"I doubt it. You should look harder." The man appears to be trying to annoy her. He's succeeding.

"It'll be okay, Eda. Kaley, you're doing what he wants you to do."

Kaley doesn't hear him, the fire now partway to the other arm and almost to her legs.

"Ahaha, your mother was stronger, both mind and body."

The fire spreads another three inches.

"Kaley! Please stop!"

"Kaley, don't! You're not thinking straight!"

"Do you even remember her name?" The man says, and the fire spreads fully.

"How... Dare... You!" Kaley yells, and raises an arm... Then falls down, unconscious, the fire suddenly fading.

"Finally. She's harder to snap than her mother was. But I have achieved what I needed to with her. And you, mister death mage, are too... protected, to do the same for. A pity. The little one is too young for it as well. I guess I've done all I can for you now." The shimmering walls stop, and he starts to walk away.

Earan whispers: "Thank you, father," before picking Kaley up and carrying her into the house.

He stops a moment, as Earan goes inside. He touches Eda's head. "You should probably follow them. Where ever they may go." He plants the suggestion, and disappears.

Earan lays Kaley down on the couch, bringing a cloth soaked in cold water and placing it on her forehead.

Her body is actually extremely cold, as if she was drawing the heat directly from her self and not her surroundings. A good thing, considering that to have drawn that much from the shimmering enclosed space might have killed Eda and maybe even Earan. By all rights, she should be a frozen corpse, but she's apparently too stubborn.

He grabs several blankets, spreading them over her, tucking them in gently.

She looks sort of sweet, in a bossy sort of way. She is likely to rest for a good while.

"That trick, by the way, is known as the phoenix. She was about to burn herself to ashes if she hadn't passed out."

Earan flops in an overstuffed armchair, taking a nap.

Eda bites her lower lip, running in after Earan and Kaley.

She sees a little more than she used to. What she sees is the sleeping techmage apparently covered a ghostly flame, whilst Earan is covered in {Whichever of his minor foci that reacts to anger.}

Eda blinks, eyes widening. "...Huh...?"

Earandil takes a few moments to calm himself, wondering how he ever got to be the controlled, rational one in the group.

Kaley turns a little in her sleep.
