Bran climbs into the middle, grabbing the oars and pulling them partially onto his lap so they do not catch on the side of the ship during their descent.

Amilee glances at Bran, pulling her arms to her lap and looking away from the edge with a soft eep.

"Just relax. As long as you don't make any sudden moves or try to stand up, we'll be fine."

"Pr-promise?" she asks softly, looking nervous. Her hands are gripping the edge of the boat tightly, as she peeks over the edge again.

"I promise. You can swim, right?"

"N-no..."

"Don't look so nervous. I happen to be an expert swimmer."

"I c-can't swim, though...."

"I promise I will come after you. Do not worry, I am right here," he says, trying to smile encouragingly.

The Guide hops into the boat, taking a seat next to Sera, and it slowly descends into the water below.

Amilee smiles back weakly, meeping when the boat starts to descend.

As they touch down into the waters, Bran shoves the oars through the locks with skill born of years of practice, and with strong, steady strokes, propels them to the distant jungle.

Amilee hides her face as the boat moves, not even glancing up.

In a few strokes, the boat enters shallow water, and Bran hops out, dragging it up onto the beach, to a point where the tide won't drag it out.

Amilee jumps out as soon as the water is shallow enough, looking at the boat in distrust.

Bran smiles, shaking his head and making sure he doesn't hit her with the boat.

Amilee looks relieved once she's out of the water, squeezing out her skirt.

In the distance, drums begin beating, wild cries disturbing the creatures of the jungles. This causes quite a commotion, as birds fly screaming out of the tree in a whirlwind of feathers, and animals screech in fear and shake the jungle in their desire to escape.

Sera gives a quick glare at the water, then turns to look at the forest. "Why are there drums beating?" she asks, pulling her spear into combat position.

"No idea, but the birds are terrified of something rather.... large..."

"They are determining whether or not we would be good sacrifices by testing us," he says, watching as pounding steps come closer, shaking the ground slightly and sending a cascade of feathers as thousands of birds fly screaming out of the tress.

"I am not going to be a sacrifice. Neither shall I let them sacrifice any of us." Sera looks into the jungle, trying to see what is inside.

"I don't want to be a sacrifice..." Amilee says softly.

"I should not think any of us wish to be," the Guide said, smiling a little.

Bran pulls the axe out of his belt, as the beast gets closer and closer, its footsteps growing louder and louder. A crashing noise can be heard within the jungle, as though something had literally pushed a tree out of its way. A deep growling sound emanates from before them, and a shadowy outlines slowly comes into focus, as the beast comes closer, looming easily over twenty feet tall and six feet across. Deep breathing mixes with the growling, and a pungent odor fills the beach, and subtle fear magic crashes over the group.

"Anatam Erkos Ra Nemos Set. Lesta Rova!" Sera chants in that odd language again, and her spear glows. She looks to be trying to resist the fear by praying to her gods. She glances at the rest, and sends that power in their direction as well.
