"Don't try to understand me, okay Kid?"

"Not important on the grand scheme of things. Besides, not good at names. Faces, sure. Names, not so much."

Eda pouts.

"Don't start that, Kid."

She keeps pouting.

"BAH!"

Eda continues to pout.

Earandil grumbles, sitting down.

The plants start playing with his shoes.

He stomps at them with his shoes.

A rather large truck drives up, nice and familiar. Jacky is in the passenger seat, and Jake is driving. "Kaley! You actually did it, nice! Here's your money! I'd thought for sure old mister million eyes would have caught you!"

Kaley grins. "He did. But he let us go, don't ask why, I don't know either. But I got you a present." Kaley holds out the Orb to Jacky, who gasps, and grins.

"You realize I owe you big time for this?" She says, barely able to contain her excitement. She takes the Orb carefully, and it flashes like a strobe light, then suddenly turns pure black. "And it's still in perfect condition! Amazing!"

Kaley grins as well. "No problem. Just be sure to get that little place rebuilt, kay?" As Jacky turns and nods, Kaley grabs her shoulder. "And Jacky?"

"Yes?"

"Be sure to check out the thirty eight for any buzzing, hmm?" She says, looking a bit sneaky.

"Huh? Oh! Okay!" Jacky nods some more, grinning- if even possible,- even wider.

"All aboooooard!" Jake says, making the doors to the back of the truck open as Jacky hops back in. Kaley hops into the back, immediately checking on her machine.

Eda blinks.

Earandil hops in, nodding to Jake.

Eda shrugs, following them into the car.

They arrive back at Eda's home, the sounds of construction all around them. "Erandil, you should go check on your mother, make sure she's still there and all that. Me and Jacky are going to try and rig something up." Kaley says, as she gets out.

"Yeah, okay." Earandil gets out, heading home.

Eda glances around.

All parents are completely fine. However, certain dark groups are working to change this in at least one place. On his way back, Earandil encounters a man with a hat. It is a hat you'd expect on a detective. You know the one. "Hey. You've been seen with Renon. Do you know what that means?" The man says, stepping out of the shadows and walking in time with Earan.

Lara makes her way back to the headquarters and signs in.

Earandil glances at the man, looking for connections to spirits, to summon so he can get him to leave him alone. "I don't know," he said in a bland voice, blinking.

"Well, that's a crying shame, ain't it. Mind if I tell you, or do you prefer blissful ignorance?" The man blinks. "Oh no no, none of that, kid." The spirits seem completely and unnaturally silent.

"Huh... Careful with this one, he's not normal."

Earan feels his shield getting warmer, and he glances down at it, surprised. "Why don't you spill whatever big secret you think will have the greatest impact on me, and go."

"So that's how it is? Fine. If you stay with that girl, you are going to end up a so a pawn in a much larger game. Of course, this is a game where being a pawn isn't so bad. They get paid nicely. But still pawns. She doesn't see people, you know. She sees either weapons, meat shields, or inconveniences.
