Week Two - May the Games (and classes) Begin

"You obviously love Hannah. I'm not so blind that I can't see that, but she is." 'Just like she was to blind with m-' Shali cuts that thought off, telling herself sternly to not go down that road. "Anyway, she won't know unless you tell her, so don't worry."

"But... I DID tell her... by accident..."

"And you were pretty much unconscious, so she thinks you were just babbling. Believe me, I know..."

"Fine. Then I'm going to tell her." He mounts his broom and flies off in search of Hannah.

"I wish you luck, Lys, and I hope she doesn't reject you too.." Shali whispers as he flies off.
Hannah's sitting in the Slytherin common room, which is at the moment empty. Shali's cat, which had up until the point remained in Shali's room, is curled up in her lap.

Lys comes flying in, mounted on his broom. "I have to say something."

Hannah looks up. "What is it?"

"I love you."

Hannah stops what she's doing and turns to get a good look at him. "You don't mean that."

His face is dead serious. "Yeah, I do. Why don't you believe me?"

"Because Shali said the same thing last year." "And I meant it just as much as he means it, Hannah." Shali had come in, and leans against to doorway.

"Well, this complicates things somewhat..."

"I've long since given up my hope on it, don't worry. I had my chance. Hannah, give him a chance at least..."

Lys turns to leave, locking and bolting the door behind him.

Shali catches him before he can reach the door, whispering to him, "Lys, if you back out now, I will never forgive you. She loves you, even if she doesn't know it yet."

"She doesn't want me, that much is obvious. You knew her first, YOU deal with her." He locks the door, slumping against it and sobbing.

Shali casts Alohorma(sp?) on it and comes in, locking it behind her. "Wrong, Lys. She thinks you don't really want her."

"I can't convince her, so why try?"

"If you're going to give up that easily, then you obviously don't love her, Lys."

He whirls, his wand pressing into her throat. "Don't try to understand me, just because you've been around me a few days."

"Less then a day, actually. And don't assume that you can't convince her." She doesn't seem at all worried about the wand in her throat, having faced worse. The look in her eyes confirms it.

"Stupefy," he whispers, setting her down gently. He marches back into the dorms, staring Hannah in the eye. "Then why don't I love you?" He says, sealing the door from Alohamora.

"That's bull and you know it."
