Day One

((In a banana hammock, clearly waiting for Shali's butt to post.))

((Getting this to the portal to remind Shali to please continue this story. I felt it necessary... Don't look at me like that!))

((Oops... Um. Right!))
"Look, I'm guessing most of y'all don't know the situation pretty well, so I'm gonna be brief. There's two major cities- Natan and Tanat. As you can guess, given the events in town, they're at war. I'm native to Natan, but that doesn't mean I like to take sides in the war- and I'm pretty sure there's others who feel the same- or at least feel that the war hurts their chances of survival." She pauses, motioning around them. "This is the forest of Tenerana. It's where most of the fighting takes place, which means we should get out of here. And... Well, I can't help but think we're here for a reason. Recently, seers and mages have been talking about omens, about a group of people uniting the land. I think we might be those people, and, well... Do any of us really want the war to continue?"

The vampire stares at her. "War? Oh no! That would be horrible!"

"Yeah, that's kinda the point. It's war, it's ugly, and it's been going on so long that no one really remember's how it started. A lot of good people have died- the last leader of Natan was assassinated."

"How sad!" She says, honestly looking sad about this.

The little druid boy is nowhere to be seen.

Zarkaeloth does his token lean-on-the-nearest-tree thing, creating sparks of lightning to calm him while she talks about the war. Visions of fire can be reflected in his eyes for just a moment.

Lina nods. "Exactly. And I know, some of you aren't from here, or don't have any reason to care, but... Do you really have anything better to do? If nothing else, at least it would be a way to alleviate boredom while you're here, right?" Liron leans against a tree, chuckling. "She does have a point. My and Lysp do tend to end up getting dropped into the biggest mess fate can find in any given universe. And it's not like we can leave just yet, it'll take a while for me to get enough energy to open another gate. Lysp, what do you think?"

"Assassination. He's dead."

"Yeah, but a lot of non-combatants get hurt."

The little boy's voice comes up from his comfy place underground. "Like the forest and its animals."

"Yes, exactly."

Vicheryn gives them both a blank look, that seems to convey her disinterest in the lady's "point."

Zarkaeloth flies up the tree he was just leaning on. Sitting on a branch, he thinks things over, separated for a minute.

"So... Will you help?"

"Ending the war."

"We're -in- a warzone! This whole damned continent is a warzone!"

"No... We wouldn't be fighting unless attacked. Just, talking."

Vicheryn snorts at the obviously demented little girl.
"Tell me, who would we follow? A great and noble cause like this deserves a great and noble leader," she replies, obvious sarcasm on the words great and noble.
