The trio of mages walked as silently as they could through the maze of the sewers. Suddenly all light went out; “ Ahh!” yelled Leerashi. “Shhh!” seethed Colas harshly (Both he and Mi’j knew demons were coming). “Lathien,” spelled Mi’j and a small ball of light appeared in his hand. They each drew their weapons; Colas drew his twin swords, Leerashi her leaf shuriken, and Mi’j his staff. “Ra watris!” spelled Colas and suddenly the waters began to rise as a thick shell of ice encased the three of them. “Be ready for anything,” warned Mi’j. The sounds of battle grew nearer and nearer as they quickly put up wards; and suddenly, they were under attack. With shuriken flying, swords slashing, and magic bolts of every element flying around (Mi’j is a time mage\shifter), the demons increased their strength dramatically. “Fall Back!” shouted Leerashi; and she and Colas ran with their ice bubbles still around them. “Come on! No, I’ll hold them off, they’d catch up to us in no time,” and with that Mi’j summoned some of his armies to help him stave the attack, and the other two had no choice but to flee.

At a safe distance Leerashi and Colas turned around to try and find Mi’j but he was lost amongst the carnage, and they had no choice but to flee farther to safety, both wishing there was something that they could do but knowing that there was nothing.

Eventually Leerashi and Colas grew worried and went back to find Mi’j. When they got there they saw the remainder of the armies that Mi’j had summoned fighting in a circle around what appeared to be a body. “Gods Geae!” gasped Leerashi frightened as she could possibly be…

The Sewers (Part 2)

Leerashi and Colas furiously fought their way through the demons trying as hard as they could to get to Mi’j. “Die! Die! Die!” they cried enraged and determined to get to Mi’j. Eventually, seeing the courage and strength of the two the demons fled.

Meanwhile Emia’j, who had been waiting outside the sewers sensed the demons coming and had ventured into the maze to look for Leerashi, Colas and Mi’j. As soon as he got to into the maze he knew something was wrong; it was to quiet. He ran, calming as he began to feel their presence growing, but he still knew that there was something wrong because he could only faintly sense Mi’j’s aura. He entered a tunnel filled with bodies of demons and mythical creatures alike. Kneeling in the middle were Leerashi and Colas over Mi’j’s body. “Move!” commanded Emia’j as he rushed to Mi’j, and they quickly moved out of the way. They stood back as they watched Emia’j take out part of his soul stone and force some of it into his mouth.

“Cough, Cough,” Mi’j sputtered as he sat up on the concrete floor, ”What happened? You were dead, how?”...

What Had Happened

After Leerashi and Colas had left Mi’j began the fight for his life, the demons quickly surrounded them and the water also began to vanish along with his friends as well as the ice bubble that he had made. With so many demons around his staff vanished and he drew his daggers and began cutting down the demons’ ranks, but eventually his strength had all but vanished. He fought bravely but couldn’t hold them all off. One had gotten the upper hand on him and with his dying breath stabbed Mi’j through his heart. Some of his armies had seen this happening but were to far away to do anything to save him, but they protected his body with all their might hoping that help would arrive before his spirit got to far away to save him. Finally their prayers were answered and Leerashi and Colas came to the rescue and drove the demons back.


“That is what happened; I think,” Mi’j stated. “Lets go,” and they all agreed that it was time to get out of the sewer system. They had won the battle today but how much longer could they hold out?

Leslie walked quietly through the forgotten courtyard, treading softly across the lush plants, the soft grass brushing against her bare feet. The vines hanging from the sides of the abandoned buildings around it blossomed with life, wrapping around the buildings, making it theirs. This was her sanctuary; her home.
Somewhere off in the distance, armies of demons gathered, preparing to assault the world of magic and make it theirs, and reshape the entire structure of reality. Pounding shields and readying magical barriers as the strongest fought to the death for the leadership title, caring little for their own safety, one among the rest stood, slightly unsure.
The elven shaman looked wistfully as he saw the smoke rising from the forest. “Not again!” He cried as he called upon the elements, conjuring a rain cloud to put the fires out. As the rain drops fell, he felt a low rumbling, coming from where the fires were, “What?”

Here's Chapter One:

Chapter One: Leslie
Leslie looked around the courtyard, a feeling of foreboding creeping over her as the wind shifted to the east. “What’s wrong?” She asked the air nervously, and it slowed down for a moment to tell her something was wrong. “Hmmm.” The wind briefly changes direction, and Leslie hears the demons off in the distance, preparing to march. “That’s not good,” she says very solemnly.
Leslie meditated quietly, listening to the rythmatic pounding in the forest. Every so often, she would look up, trying to estimate where they were headed. It appeared as if they were headed toward one of the larger elven villages, which worried Leslie because the elves would not be able to defend against a horde of demons this large. Although they were great warriors, they could not do the impossible.
Leslie eventually decided to help the elves, so she sprinted at a swift pace towards the larger elven village, hoping to get there before the demons. The tall grass in the field between the forest and the courtyard was very exposed, so she stayed low and cast a perception field on herself. The tall yellow grass spread in front of her, making soft crackling sounds as she tread the grass, the burrs leaving small cuts and scrapes on her legs and feet.
As she approached the forest, the perception field began to fail, leaving her very exposed. With two long strides, she entered the cover of the forest. She stood still for a moment, turned around, and raised her hands. Immediately, thorny vines surrounded the forest, creating a primary layer of defense, which would hopefully slow the fiends down for at least an hour or so. She could only hope that the elves , with her help, could repel the force of the invasion.
