Week Two - May the Games (and classes) Begin

A great horned owl flies in, smacking Lysander in the head with its wing to get his attention. It has a package ofr him, and his eyes open wide as he reads what it is, trying to hide it.

Shali leeaaans over and reads over his shoulder.

'Son,
Enclosed is your broom. Do well, and get a spot on the Quidditch Team. Your mom says to tell you that she: "Loves you oodles," and I feel the same. Hoping your schooling goes okay, your grandfather should give you a good cushion.

Shali smiles slightly, returning to her spot. Hannah continues to shoot Lys nervous glances.

The great horned owl smacks his ear, then flies off. Lysander decides to hide his broom, getting up after he eats, and heading to his dorm.

Shali follows, dragging Hannah with her.

He unwraps it in his room, brushing the broom reverently with his hand.

Shali knocks, still dragging Hannah.

Lysander quickly hides it under his bed, opening the door, looking surprised and nervous when he says Hannah. "H-hi, what's up?"

Shali chuckles while Hannah tries to flee. "H-hi..."

"Sooooo... Can I help you with summing?" He said, blocking the entrance as best he can, wishing he wasn't so thin.

"Two things, actually."

"Those would be?" He asked, the nervousness leaving his face, his body taking a calm, thoughtful pose.

"One, can I look at your broom, two, you and Hannah need to talk."

"What broom?" he asks, trying to avoid Hannah's eye's.

"They one you just got." Hannah tries to avoid his eyes as well.

"NO idea what you're talking about," keeping his gaze steady and unreadable.

"I saw the note..."

"Ah." He coughs his embarrassment again. "Think of my family as pureblood hippies. Lot of power, but try to keep things in balance." He pulls out the broom, smoothing of the dust. It's beautifully polished, in pristine condition, with the words 'Nimbus 2001' stamped on it.

Shali's eyes widen. it's the first broom she's seen, but she can already tell it's high quality. "Wow...."

"Would you like to learn to ride them?" He asked, holding it out to her, shooting a glance at Hannah.

Shali nods, and reaches out a tentative hand.

He hands it to her, and she feels the power within it. It hangs there, requiring no effort on her part to keep it hanging.

Her eyes widen. "Wow..."

"Do you want to move this outside, or would you prefer flying into a wall," he says, laughing, continuing to look at Hannah.
